You know sometimes as I’m driving down these old roads and highways I forget to give thanks of how lucky I am to still be here and to be able to enjoy the beautiful sights this old world allows me to see. As I sit in my old truck looking out the windshield: I finally realize how truly blessed I am!
You know sometimes a trucker gets so tied up in the C.B. talk about how FMCSA is always after the truck driver. And then when a trucker gets a chance they look on FaceBook at what is happening and begins to send messages to all their trucker friends. Most the time it is to inform another trucker about a new law or a new way to cut a driver’s pay. Or something that just happened to another driver or their truck. Then there is always the talk about the price of diesel. I guess truck drivers have complained since the beginning of driving, kind of like a way of life out here on the road. That’s easy to do when you stay so many hours away from home and loved ones.
ONCE IN A WHILE IT’S TIME TO STOP AND THANK GOD FOR THE GRATEFULNESS AND ALL THE JOY IN BEING A TRUCK DRIVER!
How for each and everyday you still travel up and down these old roads and see the scenery out your front “windshield to the world.” How many times you weren’t paying attention and nothing happened . All the slick roads and wet highways you been thru. Even thou there might have been a lot of close calls you still made it through. When that car load of hasty drivers cut you off you swerved just in time to stop the accident. How some times you’re so sick you could not even hold your head up. You still made it to drop the load and reload and go down the road again.
THEN THERE’S THOSE BRAGGING RIGHTS OF HOW EVERY TRUCKER INSIDE OF THE TRUCK IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT AND A LITTLE UNIQUE!
IT’S THE BEAUTY OF THE NIGHT TIME WHEN YOUR COMING INTO A TOWN AND SEE ALL THE PEOPLE ENJOYING THEMSELVES AND TRAVELING ABOUT THAT MAKES IT ALL WORTH THE TRIP!
And yet there will always come a sad day for all old truckers for they know one day it will come to an end. But here will always be the precious memories and good times they will take with them and talk about forever in their journey as a TRUCKER!
THANK GOD FOR THE TRUCKERS WITH OUT THEM THERE WOULD BE NO WAY OF LIFE AS WE KNOW IT TODAY!
